Coastline Mountain Wood House Architecture Designs – Capturing Coastline and the Mountains
Houses in the mountains in a simple but stunning coastal home designs by Parsonson Architects New Zealand made to work with rugged coastal landscape. Located in the remote settlement of Shoal Bay in the Hawkes Bay (for non-New Zealand’s out there, it was found on the east coast North Island house), this country is raised from the ground and set the barn adjacent to the original timber, in the early 1900s.
casual style of the house is clear, as described by the architect: “harsh but welcoming and offers a place to live simply, it is the kind of place where you begin your shoes and not have to worry about running the sand through the house.” The exterior features a wooden bar which allows natural light to filter through the interior. Floor to ceiling sliding glass walls and skylights are also doing a good job bringing the outdoors into the pavilion two slightly off-center to make houses, one occupied by the local community life and the other by the bedroom. Each end of the house has a deck – the perfect viewpoint to the beach and mountains. Parsonson Architects [via]
