This house is on three levels, each with its own character:

This is a Green Building – an unofficial rating to reach platinum. Design with natural lighting, ventilation, heating and cooling. Solar energy is used to heat water for domestic and space heating in winter. Re-claim, re-cycling and on-site waste materials and local labor and skills. Sun screens are made from plant invaders, isolation and screening to reduce plastic cycling in forms such as plants. Rain water is collected, distributed and filtered through the ponds and reed beds on the swimming-bio.

Bursts of color in the same building reflects the landscape – the pink sash window “wongy” takes cues from the kapok tree, pink and magenta bougainvillea; shower of green and blue boxes, blue Plumbago.

View properties change with the seasons and the color change and a daily cycle – experience of these changes will increase with the building. Sunlight and shade in the daytime, distant lights in the night a fire of green pastures in the winter light and summer.
