Project description by Mal Corboy:
• This contemporary style multi-storey house is designed to be located in the city center on the outskirts of the fashionable narrow site, which ordered the city harbor and liberality.
• The kitchen is located in the main room on the second floor. This is a large open plan area which houses the kitchen, dining room and living room with large sliding doors that lead to an area decorated to catch stunning views.
• The only challenge I faced was with my desire to put a gas stove and sink on the island to allow the client to feel part of the room when entertaining and also accept their views.
• I designed the island to feature polished stainless top, which is carried out through the wall behind the bench top. At the end of the island I put the oak slab above and below the stainless steel, which gives the effect of stainless chopping right thought. Which provides the perfect place to enjoy coffee in the morning. LED lighting is used extensively in front of the island and the rear wall to create the perfect atmosphere.
