Norwich Residence Home designed by Clive Wilkinson Architects
The house was designed by by and for architects in many inner cities in West Hollywood, California. From the perspective of urban design, it is necessary to conform to the City of West Hollywood and design guidelines into a small neighborhood, at the same time as the transition in the scale of a commercial strip near Melrose Avenue.
In an effort to reduce the house for a set of important ideas, responses to existing conditions began to set the pattern for the house. The mass was broken down into the street allows one story above the garage and roof terrace. It is possible to screen the front yard with green trees, so olive garden is planted to the road. On entering the front gate, visitors can see the full depth of the site – from the olive garden, through the glazed space, to the backyard and swimming pool – which enlarge the scale of the house.
